This cabin is our signature series, the most luxurious
of the accommodations, and (hence its name) is home to the Louisiana State
Record Dolphin or Mahi-Mahi caught by Robert Prest IV(owner’s father) in the
Gulf of Mexico out of South Pass on June 24,1976 with a recorded weight of
71lbs.-4oz. This fish also qualifies as 2nd place for the largest Dolphin ever
caught and recorded in the entire Gulf of Mexico. A proud trophy indeed, so we
have placed this beautiful mount on the wall of the Dolphin lodge for all
guests to enjoy. The chalet is fully furnished of course, and will comfortably
accommodate 6-8 persons. With its beautiful Louisiana bald cypress wood interior
walls and high vaulted ceilings, one is sure to appreciate the stress-relieving
mood this rustic setting creates. The Dolphin offers a spacious living room
including 2 futons(with premium foam mattresses), comfortable recliner, ceiling
fan hanging from the beautiful vaulted ceiling, and also a premium picture 42”
High Definition Satellite TV with DVD player. The living area opens to the
spacious kitchen and is separated by the beautiful granite top bar trimmed in
cypress, and includes 3 bar stools for seating and/or eating at the bar. The
kitchen features include stove/oven, overhead microwave, dishwasher, large
double sink, refrigerator/freezer, coffee pot, toaster, plenty of cabinet and
counter space, large dining table and chairs for 6, and all the cookware. Other
features of course are central A/C & heat, ceiling fans, cable TV/DVD in the
bedrooms, washer&dryer room, charcoal or gas BBQ pits, commercial fish fryers
and boilers, front and rear covered porches, fish and boat cleaning facilities,
and much more. All linens, towels, dishes, pots, pans, cookware, coffee
